Unwinding Trauma/Injuries and tissue releasing for Optimal Healing
Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a safe, light touch body therapy which leaves you feeling relaxed, energized and excited for a second session.
Body changes occur during the session allowing for fascia unwinding and realignment.
Remember your body is complex, miraculous and has the ability to self regulate and heal.
What to expect AFTER:
Some minor aches and pains may instantly improve and feel great. It is also very normal to temporarily feel uncomfortable with body changes.
You may experience a somatic emotional response such as tears, waves of sadness, twitching or vibrational movement when you have a positive tissue release, which is a natural and needed response to craniosacral therapy.
As your body naturally unwinds and releases tensions, you may temporarily experience a lymphatic let down, and/or a re-balancing tissue response such as: body aches, fatigue , menstrual cycle changes and possibly an exacerbated pain response.
This is a GOOD indicator that the session went well, change is necessarily. Our bodies need to release negative charges to heal.
BE KIND and PATIENT with your body!
CST is very gentle and any possible tissue response are:
Minor in nature.
Peaks within a day or two.
Resolves quickly.
Improves immunity.
Most clients will need several CST sessions to reach their optimal healing goals as well as maintenance CST for severe injuries. All sessions are tailored to you and what your body needs to feel well again!
Self care after a session
Listen to your body and REST as needed. Avoid doing a strenuous workout or activity.
Please WALK as tolerated. Walking aids circulation, helping to nourish your cells and eliminate toxins. A good walk outside is grounding, maintains joint mobility and strengthens postural muscles.
DRINK plenty of WATER. Like walking, water helps promote blood and lymphatic fluid flow to aid the healing process. Staying well hydrated helps prevent headaches and fatigue.
SOAK in a nice warm bath. Epsom salts or essential oils (lavender or frankincense) is also an option to help you relax your muscles and your mind.
Do your recommended EXERCISES: Breath meditations, stretching and doing activities that bring you joy . Integrate wellness exercises into your routine to maintain optimal function, stay grounded to decrease stress and help you heal.
Allow time for your body to process the therapeutic input and make it’s own corrections.
If you are scheduling other therapy, such as acupuncture, massage, PT/OT, chiropractic work please allow at least a week between appointments to prevent over-treatment.
Finally, take note of how you feel in the days following your CST session. Your feedback helps us develop a plan to get you feeling well and reaching your health goals.
I am so proud of your commitment to healing!
